TONI BROWN MUSICAL NEWS> UPDATED July 17, 2006 Life in Orlando is pretty interesting. The departure of Hurricane season leaves us drained and relieved, then it gets cold for a month--just long enough to forget about the hurricanes--and before you know it, you're getting ready for hurricane season again. And so it goes... Been an interesting year. I got divorced from Les after 25 years of marriage/working together on Relix. I settled into a new life, found a wonderful man to love, and got back out into the world. In October, I went to Magnolia Fest for the first time in several years, and saw old friends like Peter Rowan, the Code Talkers, Oteil Burbridge and David Gans, nostalgically reminisced about my dear friend Vassar Clements'passing, and remembered how much I love the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL. The wonderful band, Crazy Fingers, had me sit in for a wonderful romp. It was a beautiful festival as always, and Beth and Randy Judy really know how to put it together right. I wrote a review of this March's Langerado Festival for www.kyndmusic.com. In April, we went to the Wannee Festival and savored the Allman's, Warren Haynes and Gov't Mule, and everything else about that beautiful event. I'm still wondering what to do next. I have my little Jam 'Til Dawn newsletter in the back of my mind, but can't commit to the time involved. I love Dave at KyndMusic.com and believe he has a worthwhile project, and hope to work with him some more. Overall, the thing I am most vested in now is playing music. My Sweetheart, Ed Munson, and I have been gigging regularly as an acoustic duo, and we're having a great time developing new material and expanding our repertoire. I will pass on some live streaming info: www.archive.org/details/Toni_Brown_Live_Performances I miss seeing you all, and hope to get back to performing on the festival circuit next summer. Meanwhile, enjoy all of the live music out there, and be safe. And write me! ToniBrown1@aol.com **************************************************************** RECORDING UPDATE: RABBIT HOLE SOUL allowed me to bare my soul and share my most intimate performances. I was joined by Paul Harlyn (Harlyn Studios--www.PaulHarlyn.com) and Corey Dwyer (Crazy Fingers--www.crazyfingers.net) on the musical inflections. The title track, "Rabbit Hole Soul," makes its first recorded appearance, and I have written eleven new tunes for this CD, including a special tribute to the Grateful Dead called "Live Dead Dance." An ethereal arrangement of Donovan's "Catch The Wind" is also included. I have recently completed 15 songs for another project. I am working on re-formulating the material to make it a more cohesive enterprise, but will make the finished mixes available to you soon. Included are several news songs, some re-recorded work, some tunes by the Grateful and the extended family, and more. For information, email at tonibrown1@aol.com.
