Toni Brown has an instantly recognizable name in the Dead Head and Improvisational Jamband circuits. She spent most of her life in music’s visceral fold. From 1980-2000, Toni was publisher of Relix Magazine, a bible amongst Dead Heads and a visionary link to "intelligent music alternatives." Relix effectively helped propel the Jamband scene, and Toni has taken her place as a performing participant.
Touring
since 1995, Toni Brown has appeared at clubs, theaters and festivals
nationally, in Japan, Europe and the Caribbean. She has shared
the stage with many musical friends-including Blues Traveler,
Hot Tuna, Big Brother & The Holding Co., Vassar Clements,
Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Merl Saunders, Vince Welnick/Tom
Constanten and Donna Jean of the Grateful Dead, Bela Fleck, Yonder
Mountain String Band, Peter Rowan, JGB, New Riders of the Purple
Sage, Flying Burrito Brothers, Commander Cody, Zen Tricksters,
Leftover Salmon, David Nelson Band, ekoostik hookah, Crazy fingers,
Gent Treadly, COPE, Max Creek, String Cheese Incident, funkUs,
Juggling Suns, Living Earth and many others.
In addition
to touring as a solo artist, Toni has been lecturing on the music
industry and working as a publicist for a variety of acts and
events. She continues to surround herself with a diverse backdrop
of great musicians. Now living in Orlando, Florida, Toni has solidified
her musical base both locally and nationally, and appears regularly
with guitarist Ed Munson as an Americana Country Rock duo. |
